Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an ode to the classic sextet format and an even more consistent and powerful album with a sharper edge. Its edgier sound reflected the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's improved virtuosity on drums, and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. Keyboardist David Paich's work was more precise, sharper, and less derivative than earlier efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live show in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
