Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed, members of the band played sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics due to not having hit singles. In 1985, the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen left the group, and they held auditions to find a replacement frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their 1986 album Fahrenheit.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark its 20th anniversary. The band dug through old tapes and recordings to create the unique record. The album was well-received by fans and the band embarked upon a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The group has also released numerous compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video for the group is "Africa", which has over one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library with the band performing atop a stack of African books.

The song "Africa", from the album Toto IV, was written by the band members and was produced by David Pich. The song was written by members of the band and produced David Paich. It was a big hit in Europe and other countries. The single's success helped Toto get back into the limelight following their previous album, Turn Back, failed to chart in the United States.

Following the release of the album, Toto went on a world tour. The group was joined by tour musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. In addition guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.

Toto was founded after Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and Boz Scaggs recorded Silk Degrees. Keyboardist Paich was regular on albums by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

In 1998, Toto started working on the project titled Old Is New. The album featured three new tracks and several completed recordings of old songs. The album was a hit across the globe and the band embarked on a world tour to promote it.

The band Toto, best known for their hit single "Africa", recently joined forces for a tour to promote their newest album, All In. The album, which was released on November 6, 2018, included three brand new tracks from their forthcoming album 40 Trips Around the Sun as also completed recordings of four tracks from the past with Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album also featured an original cover of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" that the band decided to include after hearing a rendition on the radio.
